We Are One
In between writing essays, juggling reports for our school's debate team and pushing our varsity team in basketball into championship form, I always waited for LeBron James to make his Stupid Decision that destroyed Cleveland's hope for championship glory in a major sporting event. And I was shocked at the results because a monster was born in the rubble of battered team in the East Coast. Just as Kobe, Phil and the whole city of Los Angeles set their hungry eyes for a threepeat next season, the new and improved big three of collosal superstars formed a looming constellation that throws a challenging dare at the West Side.
Los Angeles need to find some back up and fast. And all the teams need to add more grit and girth to their team and consider all their options carefully because Miami is so hot and they are raring to go for gold. Here are some fantasy trades that would make the league more balanced and will give the Heat a tight run for their money.
1. Carmelo and Billups to Los Angeles for Odom and Bynum
Melo with the Mamba is wicked sick and add some sweet shooting from Billups and Fisher in the backcourt and we are in for some burnt nets and sweet bombs from beyond the arc. The Nuggets will also have a fresh look with dominant big men ready to batter opponents as they drive to the rim. Birdman and Bynum plus a healthy K. Mart? Should be fun to watch.
2. Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis for Ray Allen and Paul Pierce
Showtime with Rondo with Dwight will surely be filled with great dimes and monstrous slams that will bring renewed vigor to the battered men in green. And Jameer Nelson blending with the Truth and Sugar can pull an upset no doubt.
3. Dwight Howard to the Chicago Bulls for Boozer and Luol Deng
Luol Deng would more than make up for the void left by Hedo when Orlando let him go. Boozer will provide more mobility and excellent passing to outlet shooters like Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson. And as for me, I will choose Rose, Howard and Noah over Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh anytime, any game.
